A Yard Fit for a Home

He had cleared and cleaned the land so that it had become a sandy enchantment of a place where he and his wife planned to nestle their new home at an angle under the towering pines.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

This is my first attempt at blogging, so I thought I should give you a little information about me. Just a little. I grew up with a surfboard under one arm and the reins of my horse in my other hand. Life at the beach was in every way grand! I spent many years city-slicking in television and marketing, lived sort of an up-scale lifestyle, traveled all over the place, and thought I had everything that counted! And then one day, about fourteen years ago I woke up, moved to the country and began the great education of my life--living in the rural.

There was very little commerce in the rural where I landed and I had worked all my life, so I began to ponder what to do. After two years of research, I began a small real estate company and began to focus on the land. I remember thinking one day, you have learned the lessons of the sea, you've rubbed elbows with many celebrities, and now it is time to learn what the land has to teach you.

I have sold many pieces of land during these last years and have learned much. Since we have entered an era when many over-stressed urban professionals are seeking the quieter lifestyle the country can offer them, I decided the least I could do is to share what I have learned. And, that's what this blog spot is about. I will write about things I've learned while selling land and hopefully in doing so, I will leave you with some helpful land buying tips.
